From the fanciful ragtime piano of Scott Joplin to the resonating rhythms of African drum circles, lighthearted Broadway, to the graceful notes of Pachelbel’s Canon, Virginia Ballet Company’s summer performance, PRECEDENCE, showcases a range of dance genres including classical ballet, flamenco and contemporary dance.

Nutcracker
Virginia Ballet Company and School presents the “Nutcracker” a magical holiday experience and tradition since 1950. Our annual production is the longest running classical ballet production in the Northern Virginia area, featuring over a hundred students in a colorful array of costumes.

2010 Working Stage Rehearsal - Spring Performance

This Working Stage Rehearsal offers an insight into the stage elements of producing a ballet prior to actual performances. Observe the dancers in rehearsal or marking the dances, and witness the stage hands and light and sound technicians finalizing the presentation under the direction of the Artistic Director, Ms. Tish Cordova of Virginia Ballet Company and School.
