2013 Spring Performance - Don Quixote
Don Quixote is a wonderfully light-hearted, funny, high-spirited, energetic and romantic classical ballet, based on only a few chapters from Miguel de Cervantes epic masterpiece.
Audiences of all ages will find themselves laughing aloud as they become entangled in the high-jinks of an aging nobleman, Don Quixote, obsessed with ancient stories of rivalry and who believes he is a brave knight on a quest with his trusty squire, Sancho Panza, to rescue Dulcinea, the lady of his dreams.
Hilarious antics ensue as Don Quixote finds himself sorting out the romantic escapades of two young lovers, Kitri and Basilio, and a plan to marry her to Gamache, the richest fop in town. Throw in a handsome bullfighter, a beautiful street dancer, a lively band of gypsies, a giant windmill, visions of dancing dryads and the funniest happy ending in classical ballet, and you have an evening the whole family will truly enjoy.
